Sofa Beds To The Rescue

When you are limited in space and you want to provide an option for guests without taking away from your living space then you may want to consider Sofa Beds. Thankfully there is a huge variety of styles of sofa beds to choose from and in addition they can come as pull out or fold down types that create beds to suit your needs. Day beds provide another type where it is both a sofa and a bed at the same time.

Space Saving Sofa Beds

In addition to the space saving benefits of having a sofa bed many young people like to have one in their rooms to allow flexibility of having a sitting room or lounge style room rather than a traditional bedroom. Even in Colleges some dorms have sofa beds to give students more flexibility and variety in their living space, giving a feeling of being more than just a dorm.

Types Of Sofa Bed

Things have changed in the sofa bed world over time. In the early days sitting on a sofa bed was an ordeal and most were cumbersome and poor in sofa form, however, as time has passed designers have become more creative in designing Sofa Beds that are beautiful and functional at the same time. Some modern sofa beds are all leather and very plush and comfortable and futons, once considered to be worthy only for dorm rooms have found homes in living rooms across the world because of new looks and styles that make them appealing.

There are however, some downsides to Sofa Beds. Pull ot beds have metal frames which serve to support the mattress, unfortunately this is the major cause of complaints about the comfort of this type of sofa. As irritating as this potential problem can be it is easily overcome by the purchase of a sofabed replacement mattress or seeking out a high quality bed at the time of purchase. Couches that fold down into beds often are uncomfortable at the fold part as it is not natural to have a seam like this in a normal bed, a good quality mattress topper that covers the whole bed will easily fix this problem. Daybeds are only a type of sofabed by name as they are really a bed that has occassional use as a sofa rather than a sofa that becomes a bed.

Sofa Beds For Sleeping – Sofa Beds For Sitting

When buying a sofa bed there is often a payoff between seating and sleeping in terms of comfort, the more comfortable the seating, the less comfortable the sleeping and vice versa, the quality of the bed will affect this ratio as well but as a rule of thumb it works. When buying any sofa bed you will be dropping quite a few dollars into the purchase, it would be good practise for you to actually try out the bed before buying it to make sure it is actually suitable.
