Gift Baskets: Chocolate or Flowers?

June 28th, 2009

One of the most versatile gifts you can make is a gift basket. If you personalize it, it can be an incredible and memorable gift. Abandon the pigeonhole of what a gift basket means.

Several of you may imagine a gift basket is not appropriate for your nine year old nephew, or your sports-loving father. But when you make the gift basket you may make it anything you wish. For example the basket part doesn’t have to be a traditional wicker basket. It can be a football helment turned upside down to handle the other gifts, like tickets to a game or a rolled up jersey or some favorite snacks and a t-shirt. Or the basket may be a toy truck loaded with other little fun toys.

Don’t insulate your gift-giving to only providing present baskets to particular people, whether you select women’s gift basket or basket presents for your old grandma.

One of the reasons it’s fun to get a gift basket is because of the diversity of items in that basket. The gifts in the container are often times based on a specific theme that suits the individual receiving the present and occasionally it is designed for the affair too. Is a candy gift basket most befitting for the juncture or does the person truly appreciate cheese and crackers?

But when you’re making a basket you might do whatever you want. If you understand the recipient really well you can present a range of items that have no association or theme, but that have a meaning to the 2 of you.

Lots of people, young or old, male or female, enjoy a sweet tooth, so don’t neglect to regard gift basket with sweets. But don’t push such sweets on everyone, either.

For the gardener in your life you can give a fine watering can as the container and occupy it with flower, vegetable or herb seeds you’re certain he or she will like. You may also add some horticulture gloves, small gardening instruments and maybe even a starter plant or flower. Personalize the present by adding specific things you know she or he will appreciate.

Just invest a little consideration into the gift basket and the special someone who will be accepting it. Be sure you are aware of any dietary restrictions including food allergies or any particular preferences.
